Happy Friday!!! Sharing a layout very heavily inspired by all the goodness that is Marcy Penner's On the Grid class at Studio Calico. Registration for this class is now closed but here's hoping it pops up for sale again in the future! It's a good one.
This layout started off with the yellow and white striped paper. I can hardly resist any striped patterned paper, let alone, yellow and white striped patterned paper. Make it stop. I figured I'd keep the yellow to the left side of the layout to match the yellow in my photo but I needed something to break it up a little. Cue the graphic b/w patterned papers. Again. I can't stop using them. They've showed up on every project I've made from these Cirque kits and I'm actually not looking forward to using the last of them. Not sure how I'll manage to create anything once that happens. :)
Once I had the layers of b/w papers in place, I went to town adding bits and pieces to create a random grid. I kept the colors neutral, with the exception of the few lighter blue/aqua pieces and the one red star. I figured if the director of the Sixth Sense could strategically use the color red to highlight important parts of his story, I could do the same here. Hmm, maybe I should have stamped the "xoxoxo" in my journaling box using red ink. Darn.
Finished the layout off with stitching and three buttons. And that's it.
Thanks so much for visiting me here today! I'm still trying to put together a loose posting schedule for this blog. Process posts, challenges, product round-ups....what types of posts are you interested in seeing here? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!
