National Scrapbooking Day!
Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!
We're having a party over at Studio Calico! I hope you'll take part in the festivities today! (or tomorrow, or the next day, or whenever you can!)
I was tasked with creating a BOLD layout for the GO BOLD! challenge.
Once I decided I wanted to use color to make a BOLD layout, putting this layout together was super fun. I started out with the SevenPaper Amelia 001 patterned paper. I'm basically in love with it. It's crazy versatile...use it for a background like I did here, cut the squares up to use in Project Life or a mini album, or use the neutral B side (it's a neutral b/w polka dot that can be seen as the mat behind my photo). I have a couple more sheets of this paper in my stash, ain't gonna lie.
I basically went about embellishing each square of the paper in the same fashion I work the pockets in a Project Life spread...one at a time & jumping around until I'm satisfied there's a good balance of product and color.
Here's a few detail shots...
Lots of sewing, stamping and little details here and there.
This is the kind of layout that makes you feel like you've put a considerable dent in your stash. And then you snap back to reality and realize that's crazy talk.
So there you have it. My contribution to the super fun event Studio Calico organized for us all.
I hope you took some time today to make something. At the very least, I hope you were inspired.
Speaking of inspiration, how about that SevenPaper, huh?!! I LOVE. I can't wait to make something else with all of that bright colored goodness.
Any new scrapbooking products you've received lately that you're loving? I wanna hear!!
