Pinterest Challenge 2, Project (Project Life, Week 16)
I can't believe it's been two weeks since I posted the challenge!
In case you missed that post, you can check the inspiration photo out here.
So, here's what I came up with!
I was most drawn to the colors in the inspiration piece so I used that to determine product choice for this spread. Fortunately, a lot of the product that happened to be on my desk were in those pretty citrus-y hues. Perfect!!
Lots of peach, coral, yellow and gold.
Had to throw in some black too, to keep it from being too pastel. If you know my crafty tastes, you'll know I'm not big on pastels.
On the left...
lehua blossoms in our yard, night vision goggles (a long story, but so hilarious. I crack up hard whenever I see this photo!), my new obsession, and two of the cutest kids in the history of ever. I heart them so much.
I ran a few of the cards through my sewing machine for added detail. Sometimes I get in these moods where I want to sew any and everything. This was one of those days.
I found myself reaching for the new Kelly Purkey stamp sets a lot. I think they'll be available very soon, if they're not already at your favorite retailer. My absolute favorite is the tab stamp set with coordinating dies. I've had to stop myself from using the tabs on every single project I've done since getting this set in my hands.
You can see, I used it on the black Maste card above. Instead of clipping the tab to the card, I simply stapled it to the outside of the page protector and added a gold puffy heart. I wanted to be able to see the entire tab because I love it and think it's awesome.
And speaking of awesome, do you see that ombre "aloha"? I am in mad love with the Hero Arts ombre ink pads. I want to use the one ink pad I purchased on every single stamp I own to see how it turns out, which I take as a sure sign that I need all the colors. Yep.
So there you have it.
My challenge project + a project life spread. Two birds, one stone. Yes.
Did you play along with the challenge? I hope the inspiration piece inspired something you crafted! It's never too late to link up and share what you came up with. I'd love to see!
Have a fantastic weekend!!
